West Rim Westies got together with Hills Of Texas Westies for some Fourth Of July Weekend "fireworks". On July 3, 2004, Merrilee and Henry Hill's CH McClain's Enchanted April gave birth to Duncan's first litter. Here are the puppies at the age of 4 weeks enjoying the summer sunshine.

Duncanís daughter, Libby (Hillís of Texas Libertyís Crown), loved her visit to California in June of 2005. She went out for two weekends and returned to Texas with 9 points toward her Championship. Sheís pictured here with handler Bergit Kabel and breeder-judge Tom Barrie as Winnerís Bitch/Best of Winners for a five-point major from the 9-12 puppy class at the prestigious Great Western Terrier Association show in Long Beach. The previous weekend, she was Winnerís Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex on Saturday and Sunday at the Bahia Sur Kennel Club in Chula Vista.

Libby next traveled to Pennsylvania in October, 2005, for Montgomery County weekend. Groomed and shown by Joanne Hancock, Libby started the weekend by winning Best of Opposite Sex in Sweepstakes under breeder-judge Ms. Ida Keushgenian at the historic Morris and Essex Kennel Club show (pictured here). She went on to win the 12-18 month bitch class at both the Hatboro Kennel Club show under breeder-judge Ms. Susanna Thomson(UK) and the West Highland White Terrier Club of America Specialty under breeder-judge Ms. Melinda Lyon.

In December, 2005,
Libby finished her championship. She is pictured here with Joanne and Judge Gary Deorge at the Trinity Valley Kennel Club Show.
She basked in her glory throughout the holidays, then prepared for her first appearance in the Specialsí ring

Libby made her first appearance in the Specialsí ring in March of 2006. After her father, Duncan, won the Specialty from the Veteransí Class on Friday and returned to Austin, Libby entered the Specials ring on Sunday, March 26, winning Best of Breed over an impressive entry at the Fort Worth Kennel Club Show under Judge Judith Daniels (pictured above).Libby lives with her breeder and continues to compete as a Special in the Dallas/Fort Worth area on a limited basis, and she continues her winning ways. In 2007, she was invited to attend the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship, and most recently she was Best of Breed at the Denton Kennel Club shows on May 10 and May 11, 2008.

Duncanís son, Julio
(Hillís of Texas Julioís Crown),
had a very successful 2005.
The photo above shows him winning Best of Breed in Longview, Texas on July 31, 2005.

After winning second place in the 12-18 month dog class at the 2005 WHWTCA Specialty at Montgomery County under breeder-judge Melinda Lyon in October, Julio returned to Texas. His next win came later in October in Austin.
Heís shown here winning Best of Breed at the Travis County Kennel Club show under Judge Stephen Hubbell. His owner, Stella Blackwell, is pictured with Judge Hubbell, Randell and Julio.

Julioís first major came in December, 2005, at the Greater Collin Kennel Club in Garland, Texas.

As pictured above, Julio finished his championship on
March 24, 2006, winning Winnerís Dog/Best of Winners for a five-point major at the Trinity Valley WHWTC Specialty under
Judge Anne Katona.

This Specialty was especially exciting for us since Julio and his dad, Duncan, shared the honors that day. Duncan won Best of Breed from the Veteranís Class over an impressive Specials entry, and Julio finished his championship with a five-point major.
The photo above shows Judge Katona with father and son sharing the ribbons; Julio is on the left as Winnerís Dog/Best of Winners and Duncan is on the right as Best of Breed.
